Texture:
We have all seen them, weathered walls, rusty gates, neglected fences .yet usually they are left to decay or fall apart before anything is done. Why are these things left to decay? Is it a conscious or unconscious decision? Do people just not notice the disrepair or is it a deliberate choice to not maintain them? These are man-made materials after all, nature doesn't rust. We made them, nature slowly destroys them.
Once framed within the constraints of a viewfinder, the process of decay somehow turns into a form of abstract art, the painterly quality of the seemingly random texture and subtle colour blend to form, what I consider, man and natures unconscious attempt at art.
